How do I add or change my vehicle registration?

You can make a booking more than one hour in advance without immediately adding your vehicle registration. This gives you the flexibility to secure a parking space and update your registration before your booking begins.

Any booking where you select "I don't know my registration" will receive a reminder email to update your vehicle registration before accessing the parking space.

It is critical to add the correct registration prior to the parking session to ensure the correct vehicle is authorised to park and avoid receiving a Parking Charge Notice.

You can also change the vehicle registration on any active or upcoming booking. You can't change the vehicle on a completed booking.

 

Why do I need to provide my vehicle registration? 

When you make a booking you will be asked to add the vehicle registration of the car we need to authorise for this booking. This is a vital part of the booking process as these details are communicated automatically to the Space Owner, including any enforcement systems onsite. In simple terms, it helps Space Owners and enforcement systems identify you as an authorised Driver with a valid payment to park for the duration of your stay.

 

What if I don’t know my registration yet?

We understand that sometimes you might not know vehicle information at the time of booking when you are booking in advance - for instance if you are car sharing or using a rental car. 

When making a booking that is more than 1 hour in advance, you will have the option to select "I don’t know my registration". This gives you the ability to complete the booking and add your vehicle registration before your start time. You will receive an email reminder before the booking begins; however, it is always your responsibility to ensure this step is completed before accessing the parking space.

For any booking due to start within the hour, this option is not available.

 

How do I update my vehicle registration for an existing booking?

Using the YourParkingSpace website, follow the below steps:

1. Login to your account

2. Tap 'Driver' at the top of the page to access your Driver account

3. Select 'Active Bookings' on the left-side menu

4. Find the booking you want to amend and tap 'Manage Booking' 

5. Scroll to your Booking Details and under the vehicle registration click 'Change vehicle' 

6. Select from a saved vehicle or add a new vehicle. Click submit to save the change

Using the YourParkingSpace app:

1. Login to your account on the app

2. Tap 'Bookings' from the navigation menu on the bottom of your screen

3. Select 'Active' or 'Upcoming' from the top menu to find your booking ('active' bookings are bookings that have already started)

4. Find the booking you want to add or change the vehicle on and click it

5. Scroll to the 'Your vehicle' section and tap to select from a saved vehicle or add a new vehicle

 

How do I add a new vehicle to my account without a booking?

Using the YourParkingSpace website, follow the below steps:

1. Login to your account

2. Tap 'Driver' at the top of the page to access your Driver account

3. Select 'My Vehicles' from the left-side menu

4. Click on the + symbol to add a new vehicle

5. Enter the vehicle registration, and click 'Look Up'
 

6. Review the vehicle details, and click 'Save vehicle' to add it to your account. 

7. If the details are incorrect, you can edit them before saving the vehicle. 

8. Please note: this will not update the registration for any active or upcoming bookings. To update an existing booking, follow the steps above. 

9. If the new vehicle is your primary vehicle, you can set it to be the default vehicle any time a booking is made. Locate the new vehicle on the screen and click 'Make default' to set it as the default. 

Using the YourParkingSpace app:

1. Login to your account on the app

2. Select the 'Drive' tab from the navigation menu on the bottom of your screen

3. Tap on the + button in the top right hand corner

4. Enter the vehicle registration, and tap 'Find my vehicle'

5.Review the vehicle details, and click 'Confirm add vehicle to add it to your account. 

6. If the details are incorrect, you can edit them before saving the vehicle. 

7. Please note: this will not update the registration for any active or upcoming bookings. To update an existing booking, follow the steps above. 

8. If the new vehicle is your primary vehicle, you can set it to be the default vehicle any time a booking is made. Scroll to the new vehicle and tap 'Make default' to set it as the default. 

When can I amend my vehicle registration?
For short term bookings, you will need to amend your vehicle registration a minimum of 1 hour before your booking starts.
For long term booking, you are required to have the correct vehicle registration on the booking before entering the car park to prevent a Parking Charge.
